A beloved Austin institution known for pancakes & queso wanted to branch out into new territory. We started with the name and served up the rest.
The team behind Austin’s beloved Kerbey Lane Cafe approached us to assist in developing a new fast casual restaurant entirely distinct from Kerbey Lane. The new dining concept would focus on health-conscious young professionals and people relocating to Austin for its high quality of life.
We conducted focus groups to explore the dining habits and perceptions for this new concept. After the groups and in-depth discovery sessions, we developed a creative brief to guide naming, visual identity and messaging.
The restaurant’s value proposition would be serving fresh food made with real ingredients and an emphasis on making guests feel good about what they ate. The new restaurant would be the ‘any time highlight’ in a person’s day or night. That idea led us to the name—High Note—and to creating a bright, upbeat, warm, welcoming logo and visual identity.
We also worked on building pre-opening buzz. We led the publicity & influencer strategies and strategically-timed exclusives in the Austin Business Journal, Austin Monthly, CultureMap Austin, Eater Austin, and Austin American-Statesman.
